 Vine Leaves, Zucchini and Lamb Dish

  • 5 Medium zucchinis, hollowed out
  • 1 jar Vine leaves
  • 5 Thin lamb chops
  • 4 Whole cardamom pods
  • 5 English pepper grains
  • ½ Lemon, juiced
  • ½ tsp Baharat
  • ½ tsp White pepper
  • Salt
  • 1 Tomato, sliced
  • Water as needed
For the filling:
  • 1½ cups Round rice, washed
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1 Medium tomato, crushed
  • ½ tsp Baharat
  • ½ tsp English pepper
  • ½ tsp White pepper
  • Salt
  • Place the vine leaves in a bowl and pour hot water over them. Wait  2 minutes and drain well, separate the leaves and set aside the torn leaves (don’t throw them out!).
  • In a bowl, mix the filling ingredients and stuff the zucchinis almost all the way to the end. Take the vine leaves and place about 1 tsp of filling on the bottom center. Fold the sides and the bottom over and roll. 
  • Line the bottom of the EasyCook pot with torn vine leaves and place the lamb chops on top - sprinkle with pepper grains and cardamom pods (after lightly crushing them in your hands to let out the flavor) on the lamb chops and start arranging the stuffed vine leaves with the zucchinis on top. Sprinkle salt, baharat and white pepper and juice the lemon over everything, place the tomato slices on top, place a plate over everything and add water to cover the plate with 1 cm. 
  • Set the pot to the STEW setting for 40 minutes and relax until the dish is ready.
