 Fish Cakes in Spicy Tomato Sauce

A true Moroccan experience in one recipe. Slightly spicy fish cakes, rich tomato sauce that’s perfect as a first course on Shabbat or an amazing lunch.
Cooking time: 1 hour
Yield: 6 servings
For the patties:
  • ½ kg Light fish fillet (Seabass, Tilapia, etc)
  • 2 Onions, finely chopped
  • 6 Garlic cloves, minced
  • ½ Hot green pepper, chopped
  • 1 cup Cilantro, chopped
  • Salt, pepper
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
For the sauce:
  • 2 cups Crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 4 Garlic cloves, chopped
  • ½ cup Cilantro, chopped
  • 4 tbsp Olive oil
  • 2 tbsp Lemon juice
  • 1 Green hot pepper, sliced
  • Salt
For the patties: Mix all the ingredients for the patties in a bowl and knead a bit until everything is thoroughly mixed.
For the stew: Set the manual PRO setting of your EasyCook pot to 120*c for 1 hour. Add all the sauce ingredients, close the lid and cook for 10 minutes. Create small patties from the mixture with a 2cm diameter, add the patties to the sauce and change the temperature by pressing and holding the TEMP button, the display will light up, and setting the temperature to 100*c. Press the START button, close the lid and cook until ready. 
Tip: You can cook rice in a cooking bag on top of everything in the steaming tray! Add a cooking bag to the steaming tray with 3 cups of rice and 4½ cups boiling water and season with salt.
